IMG_2769Ok, I realize that a “bio” is written in third person, but I’m writing this so you get a feel for who I am and why I do what I do.

With over 13 years of marketing and business development experience I am crazy passionate about helping people grow their business. After graduating FSU I started my career at a large advertising agency. I quickly learned that it wasn’t where I should be and I ended up taking a sales position at the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce. I thought I would be there for three months tops, but I absolutely fell in love with the industry and ended up working my way up to programs, government affairs and ended my tenure as Business Development Manager.

In 2008 I left the chamber to start an event and consulting company dedicated to helping women entrepreneurs. It was an amazing experience and I learned a lot, but as the saying goes timing is everything. I ended up having an opportunity to go back to the chamber as the Vice President of Business Development and I just couldn’t pass it up (that darn chamber world was in my blood). After about two years I decided to make another move and took the position as Marketing Director for the City of West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency.

Throughout my journey I’ve been involved in lots of other projects. I started FAB (Female and Beautiful), a program for girls that focused on self-esteem, goal setting and leadership skills. I’ve started blogging, spoke at many different womens’ groups, served on boards for local charities and have always had my hands in helping chamber members with their businesses.

The bottom line is I love marketing! In my “spare time” you can find me at conferences, workshops and seminars, on webinars, watching TED talks or at the gym with my ipod listening to some marketing podcast. Yep, I just love learning about marketing and the creative ways businesses spread their message. I have spent hours of time and invested a significant amount of money to learn as much as I could about marketing, online marketing and starting and growing a business.

Thanks for stopping by. If there is anything I can do to help you, please send me and email at Kate@katevolman.com or on twitter @KateVolman.

I look forward to connecting with you.
