Do you ever feel like you are meant for more?  You have this desire to do more, see more, be more!  I believe that we all feel this way at some point in our lives.  Some people decide to do something about it while others just keep complaining about their lives and making excuses as to why they aren’t where they want to be.

Last night I hung out with with my friend Andy.  He’s one of those super creative people who dreams huge and  wants to (and does) change the world.  We try to get together at least once a month to catch up, brainstorm and inspire each other to continue to pursue our passions.

Whether you’re an entrepreneur building a business, a writer with a message you want to share with the world, an advocate for an incredible cause, leader of a group or whatever your passion, it can be scary taking a risk and putting yourself out there to make something happen, but as one of my favorites, Seth Godin, says “If is scares you, it might be a good thing to try.”  What makes it easier?  Surrounding yourself with awesome people who are not only going after their dreams, but encourages you to go after yours!

I can’t watch a TED Talk  or read a 99U story without being inspired to make this world a better place.  People all over the world are making big things happen and instead of just sitting and watching them, why not become one of them?  Are you doing something that inspires someone else to go after their dreams?

So here is my question to you…who are you hanging out with?  Who do you spend most of your time with?   When you are together, are they encouraging and uplifting or do you spend hours complaining about everything that isn’t going right in your life?  Be honest with yourself and don’t be afraid to make some changes starting today!

We all want to make a difference.  We all want to leave our mark.  And the coolest thing is that we all have the opportunity to do it.  We get to decide every day how we are going to look at the world.  Don’t love your job?  Make the best of it while you are looking for something else.  Want to be healthier?  Don’t make excuses, eat better and exercise.

We can all make excuses.  Let’s face it, they are easier to make than the uncomfortable changes we have to make to reach our goals, but let’s not take the “easy way out”.  Let’s decide to take small steps every day that help get us closer to our ultimate goals.  Let’s decide to be who we know we are meant to be and let’s help inspire other people to do the same!
