24 Dec You're mission…If You Choose to Accept it…
When was the last time you were face to face with an absolutely remarkable and life changing opportunity? Maybe it was a promotion, being asked to lead a group or new project, start a business, go on a mission trip or work with someone you admire. Whatever the opportunity, how did you react to it?
Begin to list reasons why you shouldn’t do it?
Try to convince yourself that you are not the right person for the job?
Let fear completely take control?
Or did you…
Jump at it!
Know that you are exactly the right person for the job (um, helloooo…of course you are!)!
Get to work!
We don’t always feel 100% prepared to take on huge oppportunities when they present themselves or even when we have set it up ourselves, but it’s those times when we need to fight through our fear and go for it.
Ready for super fun facts? 🙂
According to Jentezen Franklin’s book Fear Fighters (which is super awesome and you should totally read it) “Researchers have found that 40% of the things we worry about never happen, and 30 percent are in the past and can’t be helped. Another 12 percent of our worry involves the affairs of others and are not even our business. Ten percent of our worry relates to sickness, real or imagined. That leaves only 8% of things we worry about are even likely to happen.”
You’ve just gotta love those statistics because it helps us get one step closer to not backing down from those huge opportunities when they come. Nope, when we’re going through something big in our lives we move forward and…get to work!
