07 Aug Never Give Up on Your Dreams
We’ve all been asked the question “If money was no object, what would you do with your life?” Would you start a business, travel the world, invent something to fix a problem, host a TV show, create a movement or hide away in a cabin for months and write a book? You’ve got a dream in that heart of yours and it is up to you to share it with the world.
Unfortunately for most of us money is actually an issue that cannot be ignored (we’ve all gotta eat) so we don’t necessarily have the luxury of getting to do whatever we want to do all of the time, but there has never been a better time to start going after your dreams than today.
Think about it. Do you have ideas you want to share? Start a blog! Want to start a business, but need funding? Check out Kickstarter and get people behind your idea. Think you need to find a publisher to print your book? Why not self publish or write an e-book and create a website to promote it?
As one of my favorite entrepreneurs, Seth Godin, says “You have everything you need to build something far bigger than yourself”. Is it easy? Nope. Rewarding? Absolutely. And it takes time. We’re all so caught up in wanting everything to happen immediately that we forget the time it takes to build something amazing. Marie Forleo just posted an awesome video; 3 Real Truths About Overnight Success.
It takes time to become the person you are destined to be. You have to deal with challenges, obstacles, small victories and failures. Knowing and expecting this makes it a whole lot easier to enjoy the journey and always continue to move forward to reaching your goals.
