28 Jul The Time to Start is Now!
How many times have you said to yourself, “I’ll do that when…” or “Next weekend I am going to start _____!” We’ve all been guilty of it at some point. We have an idea in our minds and we want to get it out. We dream of starting a new business or project, feel a desire to start volunteering for a local charity or start a blog about, well, whatever it is that interests us and we believe needs to be shared. Other people blog all the time and you think the time to start yours is now (and you are right). The only problem is that “now” usually doesn’t exactly mean now.
Your intention to start is good. You know you want to, but that darn procrastination sets in and all of a sudden another day, week, month and year has past and your awesome idea is still just that…an idea. Whatever that thing is that you want to do, it is inside of you for a reason. You are meant to share it with the world and the only way to do that is to actually take action! Today!
I’ve seen friends of mine start businesses years ago and today they are rockin’ it. Was it easy and always fun? Nope. There were successes, failures and tons of twists and turns along the way, but they kept going. For some, new opportunities presented themselves and they decided to take a different direction. For others, they are continuing to build their business and it’s been an exciting journey.
Think about how quickly a year goes by. Now think about how easy it is to keep telling yourself “I’ll get to it when…” Think about what would happen it you decided that today would be the day you started! 365 days from now you’ll look back and have so many memories of your journey. You will have had experiences, met awesome people and opportunities that you couldn’t have even dreamed about will have presented themselves. A year from now you will have accomplished more than you think you can right now. Instead of turing on the TV to watch your favorite show, take one step towards accomplishing that thing you keep talking about. The world is waiting for it!
Can you imagine what this world would look like if we all pursued our dreams. Oh my gosh, it would be insanely amazing and I for one am excited to be part of it!
So stop talking about it (anyone can do that) and start doing something. Take that first step. Whether it’s a phone call to that local charity, setting up your blog and writing your first post or getting started on your business plan, do it! Go. Start!
